What did you do this past week?

This past week I completed phase 1 of the IDB project. I also attended class and did the weekly article and blog post.

What’s in your way?

Currently, nothing as the project has been completed and turned in. While completing the project, however, I was primarily challenged by the need to relearn many aspects of front-end development and a lack of time as it was a busy week for all my classes.

What will you do next week?

This coming week I plan to get started with phase 2 of the IDB project. I’ll know more specifically what that means for me after a team meeting on Monday. As always, I also plan to attend class and complete the weekly blog post and article.

If you read it, what did you think of Why Is Silicon Valley So Awful to Women?

Reading this article was saddening and mind-boggling. I can’t imagine what it is like to face the challenges women in technology are forced to deal with on a daily basis.

What was your experience of iterators, reduce(), and tuple? (this question will vary, week to week)

My experience with iterators, reduce(), and tuples were pretty smooth. Although there are some differences, iterators and related methods are pretty similar conceptually to how they are in Java which made the topic easy for me to grasp. I also had some past experience working with both reduce() and tuples.

What’s it like working in a group? (this question will vary, week to week)

I really enjoy working in a group. Being a part of a team is a big motivator for me and I found the benefits of collaboration on a project such as IDB to be very rewarding.

What was your experience of the team contract? (this question will vary, week to week)

It would have been easier to edit if it weren’t a PDF. Other than that I don’t have much to say about the team contract, it seems fair and I plan to follow it.

What was your experience of the peer review? (this question will vary, week to week)

The peer review was good. I think the qualitative questions at the end were a great touch that allowed me to really evaluate the group dynamics.

What made you happy this week?

Finishing IDB1 on time (barely).

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick-of-the-week is Larry’s video explaining API development. Even though I consider myself experienced in this area, I was still able to learn about several tools Postman offers that I wasn’t previously aware of.
